Esoteric Software creates Spine, a 2D skeletal animation tool for game developers. It offers a slick way to rig and animate 2D sprites which helps save time and create some nice looking results.
The creators of Spine recently launched a Kickstarter project that will enable them to support a wider array of popular runtimes. Spine is currently supported in LibGDX, but by adding support for more runtimes this handy tool will be available to more game developers. The more game developers using the tool, the more games they'll create, and more games they create means, the more fun the world becomes! You get the idea.
