There's a new twist on the Oregon Trail when you download the Android app Oregon Whale. It is exactly as it seems, maybe. The whale isn't from Oregon, but it is going there, and you are going with it. Actually, you are guiding it there. Your wagon is hitched and you are headed that way, but not with a horse. That's right, the wagon is being pulled by a whale. You have to avoid all kinds of dangers along the way, and you are in the water, so that means jumping and diving.
Tap above the water to jump and tap below the surface to dive to that depth. Try to not to hit the obstacles along the way. Make it here safe and sound and you won the game. The Swarm leaderboards add even more fun by allowing you to compare your score to others and either bask in the glory of being top whale, or let your shame drive you to work harder and do better.
The silliness of using a whale instead of a horse makes the game that much more endearing. Play a quick game while you wait or to kill time. Let the kids play to keep them occupied, and they even sort of get a history lesson at the same time. Not really, but you can tell yourself that, right?
